Great Island Riding Academy offers horseback riding lessons in a safe, friendly, and professional atmosphere. Our clients range from beginning riders to seasoned competitors, and our lesson program is designed around each individual’s specific needs and goals. We offer private and group lessons in our heated indoor or outdoor arenas. Whether you want to ride for fun or competitively, we look forward to being part of your riding journey.

Mother-daughter duo, Ellie Rewucki and Margaret Pesce originally founded Great Island Morgan Horses, LLC in 2015. The farm name had been created originally for their small breeding program.

In 2020, Ellie moved home to Portsmouth, NH and worked with Sarah Gove of Taylor River Farm to establish Great Island Riding Academy.

More than just a riding program, Great Island is a safe, nurturing environment where confidence is built, friendships grow, and life lessons are learned alongside horsemanship. Whether it’s a first lesson, a long barn day, or a quiet moment with a favorite horse, their goal is always the same: to give kids a place that feels welcoming, comforting, and truly theirs.
